Pieter Hendrik Schalk Bezuidenhout, born on 22 April 1992 in Kemptonpark, is a South African comedian. He spent his childhood in Kemptonpark, Gauteng. After matriculating from Jeugland High School, Bezuidenhout studied BA Drama at the University of Cape Town. In 2015, he graduated with honors cum laude.
Bezuidenhout’s creative and original points of contact during his performances make audiences identify and see the humor even in a bad situation. During his student years, he began to question issues about society and that is how he decided to become a comedian, so that he could highlight strange views and customs in society in a light, comical way. In 2018, Bezuidenhout landed the role of Johan Niemand in the film, Kanarie, which was based on the experiences of co-writer and music director, Charl-Johan Lingenfelder. The film was well received and pushed boundaries in terms of people’s preconceived ideas about homosexuality.
In 2015, Bezuidenhout was named the best in his peer group by Comic’s Choice awards.
In 2018, the kykNET television series, Die Ware Naarheid, was launched with Bezuidenhout as the writer of the text and newsreader and Bibi Slippers and Erns Grundling as co-presenters of the program. Bezuidenhout is characterized by his colorful sweaters and curly hair.
